To really make a side hustle work as a serious business, putting in at least 20 hours is crucial.

Many dream of their side hustle becoming that "unicorn" business—easy to manage and fast-growing. However, no matter how great the idea, success requires time. Building a business from a side hustle takes patience since time is of great value.

When I was a college junior, I taught myself digital marketing, SEO, and copywriting. Remember that building and maintaining relationships are key to finding success.

Work ethic also makes a big difference. The more focused hours you invest, the better the results you’ll see. Consistently putting in effort increases your chances of achieving business goals. Your work ethic will fuel your motivation and help you keep going when things get tough. Setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and managing time effectively are essential. Combine this with agility and adaptability, often called the "startup mentality," and your side hustle can thrive quickly.

Balancing a full-time job with a side hustle means setting clear goals and knowing when and how to achieve them. Being realistic and flexible with your objectives while staying adaptable to changes gives you an advantage. It’s important to learn best practices in your industry as you start out and accept that setbacks will occur. Stay determined and learn from challenges.
